TEACHING WITH INTENTION

TEACHING WITH INTENTION

A mom just finished taking our online parenting JOURNEY class for a second time.

“Lisa! This journey has changed my life and my parenting. I am living intentionally and teaching my children with intention as well. Thank you for coaching and encouraging me through this a second time!”

NOT JUST FOR PARENTS

One of my spiritual daughters shared this sweet testimony of ministering to a young gal. Our JOURNEY class is not just for loving your children but all of His children.

“Hi Lisa, here is a testimony I wanted to share with you. The lessons I have learned through Let the Children fly helped me lead her to Christ for this healing. This girl is not a mom yet and is struggling with some insecurities and lies that she believes. So I walked her through writing down those lies and tearing them up, stomping on them, rejecting the lies, and how to instead accept God’s truths, as you taught me in the JOURNEY class. Here is her testimony on what that did for her: ‘Hey! So I finally had the guts to do it last night. I wrote down all the lies and things that kept hurting me in my mind and flushed them down the toilet. It came out to be about six pages worth of crap. It took me a while to get the courage to do it. The crazy part is that I wrote it in a red marker, and about halfway through ripping it, I realized that red represented Jesus’ blood. I was just choosing a marker, and I chose the red one. I was praying while doing it. I feel so much better now like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. I feel like I can accomplish and do what I am called to do now. It sounds cheesy, but I feel free now and confident in myself and the Lord. It’s already been a blessing that He took those lies and stomped on them! I’m so excited to live! To truly live freely! No more bondage!’”

LET HIM LEAD THEM

How many times do we miss the move of God on our children because we are focused on them looking or behaving a certain way?

A mom shares: “My son was ‘soaking’ during the worship time at church, and I didn’t even realize it at first. We were in the back row, and he put his head on my lap. I was about to encourage him to sit up ‘properly’ or stand with me and sing but had this sudden realization that he was just… basking. So we sat and soaked. I was so excited to try the sponge activity with the two kids after church, but after today I feel like I can pick up soaking tips from them too.”

GIVE IT TO JESUS

This stuff has me cheering God all day long. Look what this mom shared in class.

“I took the jar prayer to heart, and I was in tears putting all the negativity and hurt from my parents into that jar. But when I gave it to Jesus, He spoke to me (this would only be the second time I have heard God speak, but it was surreal and pure joy that I felt I was on the right path again).”

LOVE OF LAW OR LAW OF LOVE

My friend shared: “Wow, so much has changed in my heart! I now see myself walking deeper with my hands open and my eyes closed – feeling like I am freer and more trusting. I’m talking to God, and I’m listening. My husband is with me, too, as this journey has brought us so much closer in our marriage and parenting. This parenting class has become a part of our daily life. The way we interact as a family and with our children. Tonight, we printed off the results from our love language quizzes and then printed out pictures of cups that were empty. We then spent time praying, talking to God, sharing how we can fill up our love tanks or cups, and how we are unique with different needs. The kids loved it! They went to bed saying their love tanks were full. This class has been such a blessing for our family, and I feel like it is just the beginning that God has so much more planned!! One of the best parts is seeing how excited our children are about it too.”

YEARNING FOR MORE

This is the BEST response from a mom about our online class: “This whole class has made me yearn for connection and peace.”

AUTHORITY & HEALING

There are two chapters in our JOURNEY book that the world needs TODAY.

Authority – Do you know how to use your God-given authority to defeat the works of the enemy in your family? Things like sickness, fear, panic, stress, anxiety, and unrest are things we have authority over. In this chapter, I explain our Biblical authority and give parents exercises and tools for teaching their children how to rise up and walk in the authority Christ died for.

Healing – Do you know how to pray for the sick as Jesus did? In this chapter, I walk parents through how to teach their children to pray for the sick with faith that produces fruit.

Use the storm for GOOD and allow it to create a hunger in you for more of Him. Allow me to empower you with the language, tools, and activities to equip your children to be powerful people who change the world around them.

BEING THE LIGHT

A mom shared: “When I think about how empowering learning to partner with the Holy Spirit in my parenting is, it blows my mind. For example, a mom was dropping her daughter off at my son’s preschool class one morning, and her daughter was throwing a full-blown fit. It ended with the mom leaving her writhing daughter in the teacher’s arms. As I talked with the mom on the way out to our cars after drop-off, I could sense she felt powerless as she spoke. She didn’t know what to do, what was wrong with her daughter, why she was crying, etc. If she knew that her daughter had a heart splinter, an empty love tank, was believing a lie – any of these things – she could have moved towards her daughter rather than away from her, but she had no idea and ended up leaving in such uncertainty. I released peace over her as we went to our cars.”

CONTROL-BASED PARENTING

I received this message from a mom taking our class. I want you to see how each of these parts are interwoven and connected. God is so good to show her what was the root of her control-based parenting.

“Wow, I had my late night turn out so different than planned. I have followed the LTCF Facebook page and have been trying to emulate the connection parenting versus my normal controlling/disciplining parenting. I have realized how much I operate under a religious spirit and definitely want freedom from that! That revelation in itself has been so eye-opening and humbling. After I went through some forgiveness with my parents for not emulating connection (something my father still doesn’t grasp), I asked Jesus what He wanted to give me in return. As I gave my jar to Jesus, I waited in expectation for a sweet, tangible picture to come about. And the waiting got a little long for my comfort zone, so I asked again what He was showing me! Immediately I heard COMPANIONSHIP as I looked at Jesus standing close, smiling at me. I heard, ‘You are not alone, Tiffany. Let’s play.’ Immediately my stomach filled with this gaping grief, and I began to wail as a deep pain I had not known was there surfaced. The more I allowed myself to cry, the more I got clarity of a deep sense of loneliness that I believe had been there all my life and I was totally unaware of! I sat in this place for a while and felt some revelation come. I have been struggling with a wall that comes up between my oldest son (6 years old) and me these last two years. I have not been able to pinpoint it, and it has grieved my heart so much. Its presence had gotten stronger over the past year with the birth of our second son, a definite ‘world changer’ personality. I have never known how to address ‘loneliness,’ and I am so encouraged that the Lord surfaced it in my heart because I believe He revealed to me that it is something that has burdened my oldest son’s heart and has driven a wedge between his and I’s attempts at connection. I am not fully certain what’s next, but I am hungry to seek that out.”

JESUS IS ALL YOU NEED

I wrapped up six weeks of classes at the local rescue mission for moms with drug and alcohol addictions in an 18-month program. Let me tell you – when Jesus is all you got; He becomes all you need. These ladies are so precious, and the transformation was visible. They shared stories of how they are learning to partner with God in their parenting. So many reported that the entire house is calmer, and the kids are much more at peace. They are learning to see, really see, their children for the first time, and the fruit has been incredible. Jesus, you are so amazing, and I am so thankful I know you and get to tell others about you.

VARIETY OF SEASONS

Some parents are in crisis with their children and are desperate for new tools, while others are simply hungry for more. Some come from generations of strong believers; others are brand new to the faith. Some have teenagers or grown children; others have wee ones. There is a place for YOU. Your family is worth it. YOU are worth it.
