INVITE THE HOLY SPIRIT

INVITE THE HOLY SPIRIT

I wanted to share this conversation with a mom taking our class. I think it will help many of you (the lesson was on being spiritually clean).

MOM: “I have only seen a demonic spirit once, and I was about 16. I was briefly warned at some point and just commanded it to be gone in Jesus’ name. It fled immediately and dramatically, and my friend saw it too. Following that event, I was terrified that something bigger would come back to get me, and I wouldn’t be brave enough to make it leave.”

LISA: “It is amazing to me how powerful these events can be for a child (16 is still a child). If you came to me back then, I would praise you for using your authority over it, AND I would have encouraged you to ask Holy Spirit to fill you. The Bible says when we tell the bad to go, we must invite the good to come. You telling the bad to go but not filling yourself with Him left you vulnerable (fearing it would come back stronger). Had someone been able to help you pray for Him to cover and fill you, I do not think you would have battled the fear of its return. But now you know for your own sake and helping your children.”

MOM: “You articulate that the Holy Spirit was missing; it is obvious. Such a simple need but missing it has produced decades of timidity. Even when I was being bold, there was a lack of understanding, and I feel at peace now. My son had a bad dream one night, and my husband and I knew just what to do. We used our authority over the fear and invited the Holy Spirit, and he had a peaceful night.”

LISA: “I would go back to him and check in with him by saying something like, ‘Hey buddy, remember the other night when you were feeling scared? Have you had any thoughts like that again, or was it resolved?’ If it was resolved, help him to see how powerful the name of Jesus is and that He is always there for him in his time of need. If it has returned, you know what to do to help him so that it doesn’t follow him around for years. So proud of you!”

HE IS THE WAY

A parent shares this powerful revelation in our JOURNEY class:

“I keep thinking that we do not have to do this blindly. We do not have to do life, parenting, or any part of it as if we are walking in a dark room, not knowing what is happening. We can ask God what is going on, and He will tell us and show us. John 14:6 – ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life.’ Psalm 119:105 – ‘Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.'”

FEAR, I SEE YOU

I loved receiving this testimony!!! Crawl into the world of this little boy and how his mom responded to his real heart.

“Hi Lisa, I’m not sure you’ll get this, I know you receive a lot of messages but I just finished your JOURNEY course and had to share something that happened today. My three-year-old has been struggling in Sunday school for the last month or so. When I signed him in he immediately cried and clung to me. I told the teacher I would keep him for worship and try again in a bit. We went in and started singing and he just hugged me and snuggled through two songs. I brought it up that I would take him after singing and he started fussing again. The band started singing Jeremy Camp “Same Power” right then and it hit me – your authority lesson! I asked him if he wanted to not be afraid and then I said, ‘Fear, I see you,’ and commanded it to leave and then ushered in peace. After the song I asked if he was ready and he was a completely different kid!! He walked to the room holding my hand and didn’t look back after saying bye to me. I am embarrassed to say I’m shocked, I shouldn’t be, because this is our God, but I just can’t recall ever feeling this powerful before in my parenting. I’m just so excited to have done this class and learn things I can use to help my kids through life! Thank you, thank you!!!”

HURTING HEARTS

Testimony from our JOURNEY class: ”I am so thrilled about the class and already see breakthroughs in our family, even though I am just learning. Today I heard both our girls, ages 4 & 5, crying and being upset at the same time. After hearing that one said ‘Eww’ to a song the other was singing, she ruined the floor puzzle they had been building. I explained that they both hurt each other’s hearts, and they told each other how they felt. Then I had them apologize and ask for forgiveness. One apologized, but the other refused. Not sure what to do, I asked her to draw a picture of how she felt. 2 minutes later, she returned with a picture of an upside-down heart and a regular heart. She said her heart felt upside down when she didn’t say sorry and that it felt right when she did. So, she went right away and apologized. All was well once again! I was pretty amazed that is how she felt when not apologizing! Anyways, thank you, Lisa, for sharing your experiences and journey and what you’ve learned with Holy Spirit. I can’t wait for more breakthroughs with Him.”

GOD’S WAY WORKS

A mom walking through our JOURNEY class shared: “I have to tell you, I’ve been seeing positive changes and more peace in our home. The last three days, particularly in our homeschool, have been GREAT!! I have an even greater hope today that we will continue seeing more fruit in our family from remembering and practicing intimacy with Father God. Actually, I’m excited to co-parent with Holy Spirit!”

FEAR IS NOT YOURS

When God says, “Fear not,” He means FEAR IS NOT YOURS! Look what this mom shared.

“Lisa, thank you! After your words, I prayed against fear last night, and I slept harder than I have in months. I woke up feeling refreshed, and there was SUCH a cool sunrise this morning with a HUGE sun breaking out from clouds. It was beautiful and spoke to me about strength and clarity breaking out of the fog. Thank you for your encouragement!”

I COMMAND

I had the privilege of ministering to a group of moms in an 18-month rehab program for drugs and alcohol. I wasn’t sure exactly how it would go when I said yes, but I have to say these mamas have stolen my heart, and I have fallen in love with them. They are so hungry for change and transformation. One precious mom sobbed the week before telling me of her daughter’s outbursts and anger. She would get so triggered by her daughter she would have to leave the room. I gave her tools and taught her how to partner with Holy Spirit in her parenting. The next week, she was so excited to tell me that her daughter had another meltdown, and while she was leaving the room, she could see her daughter NEEDING her (before all she could see was the anger), so she went back to her and just held her. She said out loud, “Spirit of rejection, I command you to leave my daughter,” and her daughter went limp and said, “Mommy, what did you just do to me?” OH my goodness! She walked in her God-given authority over the spirit tormenting her daughter and got free. Jesus!

LET HIM LEAD THEM

How many times do we miss the move of God on our children because we are focused on them looking or behaving a certain way?

A mom shares: “My son was ‘soaking’ during the worship time at church, and I didn’t even realize it at first. We were in the back row, and he put his head on my lap. I was about to encourage him to sit up ‘properly’ or stand with me and sing but had this sudden realization that he was just… basking. So we sat and soaked. I was so excited to try the sponge activity with the two kids after church, but after today I feel like I can pick up soaking tips from them too.”

DO IT ANYWAY!

I love this testimony from a mom taking our online JOURNEY class.

“This evening my kids were out of sorts, grumbling, frustrated, and complaining about various aspects of the day. So I decided it was the perfect time to soak in the presence of God as a family. I thought the kids would resist because they were grouchy, but each one willingly laid down, closed their eyes, and became still in worship. It was so refreshing!”

FEAR IS A WELCOME MAT

We invite what we fear. If you don’t want (blank) to invade your home, then do not fear it! Fear is a welcome mat; so is peace!

DISCERN FIRST

When we get overwhelmed with feelings out of nowhere, we have to stop partnering with “What’s wrong with me?” and begin to ask, “Lord, why am I feeling this? How do You want to use me right now?” We feel things in the atmosphere so that we can do something about it.

First – identify what you feel: fear, anger, worry, dread, etc.

Second – ask, “Jesus, what do You want me to do about this?”

Third, pray accordingly.
