HAVING A HARD SEASON?

HAVING A HARD SEASON?

Wrap your heart around this statement, “When this whole thing is over (whatever that means), I want to come out of it so hungry I don’t even recognize myself.”

CHANGE THE WORLD

If you have read many posts of Let the Children Fly, you will know that hearing God is a core ingredient to partnering with Him in your parenting. The fruit is literally changing the next generation!

EXTRA TOUCHES

Testimony from a mom taking our online parenting class: “I often feel that I struggle so much with my son’s behavior, and I’m starting to truly believe that it’s mainly because his love tank isn’t getting filled. I’ve been wondering this for a little while, to be honest, and I always kind of thought it to be random thoughts, but after reading this lesson, I think it was more of the Lord speaking to me. I care for him, give him gifts, speak loving things over him and give him lots of hugs and touches… I know that I struggle to spend quality time with him; he’s young and just wants to play with me. I love the idea of having a morning date with him after breakfast. Really encouraging stuff.”

SPIRITUAL HEARING

There is no special spiritual gift of hearing God. It comes with the package of becoming a Son and Daughter. You may need to learn how to strengthen your spiritual muscle of hearing (like worship, reading the Word, and prayer), but your spiritual ears work just fine.

THE GREAT I AM

I had to take a moment to process my heart in the midst of so much movement. I began to feel good about all that I have been able to accomplish in a short amount of time between packing, cleaning, selling items, arranging details, canceling utilities, securing housing, saying goodbyes, homeschooling, and on and on. I stopped myself from saying aloud, “I am a ROCKSTAR!”. I saw a mental picture of how weary and exhausted I was earlier in the week, and I heard God say, “No, I AM,” and I began to cry. Oh yes, yes, yes. It is YOU who gave me the grace and strength to accomplish all that I am able to accomplish. It is YOU who showed up in my weakness and made me strong. It is YOU who sustained me with Your power to end well. It is YOU who never left me. It is YOU who walked me through this part of my journey just like You have every other one. 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 – “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

HE IS HERE

God is not standing over you, watching you parent, or keeping track of your every wrong move. He is geared up, ready to jump in the moment you invite Him. So, give it a try today. Having a hard mommy moment? Frustrated over a child’s behavior? Hit with big news? Invite Him in and watch and see how He encounters you IN the moment.

NEW MAMA

Testimony from our online Kingdom parenting class: “I’ve had blinders removed the last few years, and I am so thankful for the changes God’s instilling in my heart, mind, and behavior, so I have to share how ‘Let the Children Fly’ Kingdom living and teaching has affected my life and my children’s lives. When I look at the road behind me, I can see huge areas of His grace, peace, and love forming my choices instead of anger, punishment, and shame in my parenting. I love parenting this way!”

GET UP AND FIGHT – HIS WORD

One word from God can flip an entire situation. Ask Him to lead you to Scripture and meditate on it. Sometimes I get one line or even one word and chew on it all day. It may not feel true. It may not look true. It may not look possible. But it IS true! Camp out on HIS truth until it becomes your truth.

PARENTING MISTAKES

My friend shared this golden testimony: “My mother was highly emotionally volatile and sometimes physically abusive. God has healed so much in me, but having a volatile kid has brought me to new places I didn’t know I needed healing. One of which was a fear that my daughter and I wouldn’t have a close relationship if I made mistakes. Part of this I realized was that my mother died before there was any reconciliation and refused to clean up her mess before her passing. I am quick to repent, own my mistakes, and show what healthy reconciliation looks like. Anyway, I began to dialogue with the Holy Spirit about my parenting mistakes – and I heard Him ask me to ask Him what my mistakes look like when I bring them to Him. So I did. And I saw that each time I made a mistake and owned it to my kids and brought it to Him – it was a form of intercession. He would tuck it like a piece of paper in His pocket for later when it’s needed. There is SO much about my daughter’s healing and process that I cannot fix for her. He reminded me that my best is good enough, and the revelation of what my mistakes look like to Him was priceless.”

IF PARENTS COULD…

If parents could learn the rhythm of their child’s heartbeat, their world would be changed.
